Each requires a thorough medical assessment to determine suitability. They are:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Peritoneal Dialysis (PD)<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"7\" data-list-defn-props=\"{\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Peritoneal dialysis is an option for patients looking for more flexibility and convenience. Unlike hemodialysis, which requires filtering blood outside the body through the dialyzer, peritoneal dialysis uses the peritoneum as a natural filter, which is a membrane lining inside the abdominal cavity. This type of dialysis can be done at home, work, or while you travel.
