MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center and Innovative Renal Care Announce New Partnership and Introduce New Dialysis Device in Iowa

MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center and Innovative Renal Care (IRC) are proud to announce a new partnership in the offering of in-patient dialysis services within the hospital’s acute care setting. By way of this partnership, significant advancement in renal care will be offered locally with the introduction of the QuantaTM dialysis system. As the first hospital in the state of Iowa to offer this enhanced technology for dialysis treatment, MercyOne and IRC are setting a new standard in patient-centered care.

The Quanta dialysis system is designed to be flexible, enabling its use in various clinical settings, including home care, acute care, and inpatient facilities. This innovative technology allows patients to become familiar with the device in multiple environments, whether at the bedside, in a dialysis suite, or in the ICU, promoting versatility and ease of use during treatments.

“IRC is excited to unite with MercyOne to provide cutting-edge in-patient dialysis care that will serve the residents in and around the Waterloo community,” stated David Doerr, CEO of Innovative Renal Care. “We believe that continuity of care is vital in a health system and want to ensure patients conveniently receive treatment where they need it, when they need it. Our relationship with MercyOne and the use of Quanta delivers on that goal.”

“We are thrilled to work alongside Innovative Renal Care to be the pioneer hospital in Iowa to offer in-patient dialysis using the Quanta device,” said Dr. Matthew Sojka, chief medical officer at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center. “This partnership and technology enhances the patient experience and supports our dedicated nursing staff by simplifying the dialysis process and allowing for a consistent treatment approach. With the flexibility and portability of the Quanta device, we can provide more personalized care for our patients, regardless of their treatment setting,” added Kelly Richard, chief nursing officer at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center.

Innovative Renal Care is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of patients in the communities they serve.
