JACKSON, Calif., June 25, 2025 — Residents of Jackson and the greater Amador County region now have improved access to life-changing dialysis care, thanks to a new inpatient dialysis unit at Sutter Amador Hospital. Through a strategic effort with Innovative Renal Care, Sutter Health is making it easier for patients to receive the treatment they need—right where they need it.
Previously, many hospitalized patients requiring dialysis had to be transferred to facilities in Sacramento, more than an hour away. With this new unit now operational, patients can remain close to home, supported by family and community, while receiving vital care.
“Dialysis services inside the hospital help patients receive high-quality care from local care teams they know and trust, with the added benefit of families, friends and other support systems remaining close by,” said Sutter Amador Hospital CEO Michael Cureton. “This new service expansion is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to broadening access, enhancing the overall care experience and meeting the needs of our community.”
The new dialysis unit at Sutter Amador Hospital is the sixth in-hospital collaboration between Sutter Health and Innovative Renal Care. The partnership also includes Innovative Renal Care Jackson Dialysis Center, an outpatient dialysis center, at 12030 Industry Blvd., which opened in September 2024.
